We are pleased and proud of the achievements of all pupils at Samuel Pepys School. Learning is accredited by ASDAN and OCR at KS4 and P16 (PFA).

The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme is offered in Post 16 (PFA).

5 students left Samuel Pepys School Post 16 (PFA) provision in July 2023

Destinations

4 leavers went on to further education. 3 to Huntingdon Regional College and 1 to SENSE for an education placement.

1 leaver is awaiting their placement confirmation and is currently not in education, employment or training.

Accreditation

4 leavers (100%) achieved an Entry Level 1 Diploma in OCR Life and Living Skills.

1 leavers (100%) achieved an Entry Level 2 Diploma in OCR Life and Living skills.

All learners took part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and achieved a bronze award.

Artsmark

We are pleased and proud to be a GOLD Artsmark award school, having received this award in October 2022.

Over the past couple of years, we’ve been working towards an Artsmark award. This process not only celebrates and reflects on creative ways of planning and delivering teaching and learning but also on our connections as a school community. Thank you to all pupils, staff and families for the part you play.

The Assessors said:

“Samuel Pepys School has navigated the challenges of Covid lockdowns with great sensitivity and emotional literacy. Reflecting on its journey, the importance of the Arts and creativity has been reinforced rather than diminished by the challenges it faced, and the setting’s understanding of pupils and their families has deepened considerably. It was a very creative setting pre-pandemic and lockdowns simply reframed. At home, families worked together on projects, made things, painted, drew, and wrote creatively, shared and celebrated together through photos, video, phone calls and doorstep drop offs. A School Governor continued pre-Covid ‘Pets as Therapy’ visits with her dog Joy, who listened to pupils read via Teams. Families shared that this had a positive impact upon connections, routines, and engagement. Your approach to the Arts is part of a wider philosophy of teaching. You cite Artsmark as giving you a creative confidence, dedicated to celebrating your personal creativities empowering you to plan and deliver with more flexible approaches to our teaching and learning.”

We are continuing on our journey and have exciting creative plans for teaching and learning.
