Key stage 2

The children have been making repeating patterns in maths using pasta to make necklaces and jelly beans.  They have enjoyed sorting clothes by the type of materials they are made from and how they feel along with trying different clothes on for a fashion parade.  To learn more about where we can buy clothes from we went on a walk to town and looked and found at all of the shops that sell clothing.  We have also visited Tesco to buy our snack and to look at all of the clothes that they sell.  In Literacy we have been learning about the story ‘Dinosaurs Love Underpants’ and looking at non-fiction clothing books to find out information and to learn how to use the contents page.  In Discovery we had great fun learning how to use a washing machine and what makes it work along with washing our face towels by hand and pegging them out to dry!

Key Stage 2 have been very busy learning about India for our new topic. To introduce it, we decided to take a little trip to experience India for ourselves! First, we had to go to the airport to collect our tickets and have our passports stamped ready to go! Once we had packed our bags, we then boarded the aeroplane. It is a long way to India, but luckily our airhostess had snacks and drinks ready for us. Finally, we made it to India! Upon arrival, there was food – rice, poppadum’s, mango chutney and raita – as well as ‘henna’ hand painting, Sari’s to wear and music to dance to. What a busy day!!
